CLAW – Internal Review
I have developed a model to help you quickly identify the low-hanging fruit for improvement in your small business operations. Using the CLAW model you can quickly identify internal and customer feedback to identify areas of improvement for your business.
What Costs too much? Review your P & L. What items can you do better on? Which suppliers can you negotiate with? Are you about to reach a tipping point for economies of scale?
What took too Long? Are customers complaining about the service time? Are you over-promising and under delivering? Are you relying on systems, processes, and people that can’t deliver to the times you require?
What made you Angry? If a system and process, a person has made you angry it’s not working and you need to take stock! What is the cause of customer complaints? One verbal/social media complaint equates to a whole lot of unhappy customers. Deal with the complaint and identify if it is a problem worth solving.
What was Wasted? Time, energy, resources and money can all be wasted if there are inefficiencies in your business. Work out a way to reduce wastage and you will be more effective.
A regular check of your performance in the areas will help you identify opportunities and ultimately result in your business being more profitable.
