Top ten ways to stay healthy and run a business
I have often said that you can’t run a business unless you are of healthy mind and body. We are surrounded by information telling us what to do and how to live a fulfilling live. Magazines, TV shows, blogs posts bombard us with all the things we need to do, every day, to be healthy, happy etc.
This is great if we have nothing else in our lives to focus on, but for those of us who have to run a business, contribute to community, organize the household it seems impossible to squeeze everything in.
From all that I have read and the things I try and incorporate daily – here are my top 10 tips:
- Turn your phone and emails on do not disturb for periods throughout the day and when you are with other people
- Aim for seven hours of quality sleep every night
- Eat five serves of vegetables and two serves of fruit
- Drink two litres of water every day – have it measured out
- Stretch and move every day. Do half an hour of intensive exercise every second day.
- Get out and grab some Vitamin D – 15 minutes to 15% of your body
- Use a timer to organize your day
- Do one thing a week that scares you
- Make some quality time for your partner and family
- Take ‘me’ time, whatever that may be
If this feels like just ‘another list’ of things you won’t get time to for – don’t put extra pressure on yourself, start a little bit each day and if you can manage this 80% of the time, the 20% won’t matter.
