The workshop with Sam Shazzam was another reminder about what Facebook is – it’s social media repeat ‘SOCIAL’ – and as a business we need to respect that when using it for promoting our business.
As the woman behind Aldi Mum, School Mum and Good Funny Smart, as expected, Sam made some great points. As a business you need to stand-out from everyone’s family, friends and recommendations – which is not an easy thing to do. So her tips for doing that include: Firstly, think about what your target market wants – what do they care about? Secondly, keep your interactions human. Thirdly, don’t always sell – consider your page like a magazine – a mix of good stories with some ads – not the other way around.
