Pastries from a pink box taste better than from any other coloured box! Why is colour so important in business? Because it has a influence on buyer behaviour.
The late colour researcher Cartlon Wagner found out some very interesting things about the use of colour to influence buyer behaviour. Colour can tempt and discriminate simultaneously.
A couple of random findings:
In blind taste test the same coffee was placed in four different coloured containers. A group of women were asked to sample them. The coffee from the yellow canister tasted weak; from the chocolate canister, too strong; from the blue canister, too mild; but from the red canister it was described as ‘rich’.
Bright orange signals democratic affordability; green and burgundy signal pricey exclusivity.
Blue connotes authority and respect; green and yellow implies fresh; and purple – well purple conveys luxury and indulgence…
